Just had a lengthy conversation with a BT Broadband technician, really nice guy. Very open and honest, Just how I like anyone. He popped in to fix a slow Broadband problem, He saw our phoneline was older than my gran and replaced most of the wiring, to get it up to spec. No errors to be found and even got an extra 500kb out of the line, with an extra 1.5mb if wanted.
I, of course grinned broadly and thanked him, asked him to stick about for five minutes while I ran speed test.

Ah. I told him and he just turned round, grinned and said;

"Thought so. You've been capped, mate."

I'm not stranger to this, Pipex used to do it every other month. I went with BT so I could avoid this, at least I don't have my ISP saying it's BT fault!

ARGH!

Anyway, the techie. Packed up his things and said he'll put it on his report as faulty wiring and a capping problem. Said it'd probably switch back over in a day or two.

I am not a happy bunny without internets, especially when my own ISP is fucking me over with a £30 a month contract for UNLIMITED usage! The fait usage policy is very fair to people who like downloading a few mucky movies and films recorded in a cinema every now and then! I'm also especially not happy that the latest episode of House was released today and i'm forced to download it at 25kb a second! I'm not the lightest internet user, but i'm certainly not the heaviest!

Anyone else been effected by this? I love to hear your story and how you dealt with this scourge of company policy!

On another note though, 1000+ Pageviews! Never thought i'd get there!
